The Commission, established by LUMSA University, was appointed by Decree of the Ministry of Labor No. 100 of 2017. Composed of university professors of labor law and other experts in the field, it is chaired by Professor Iolanda Piccinini, full professor of labor law at the University of the same name.
The Commission, which has jurisdiction throughout the country, operates on the basis of free and non-exclusive agreements with public and private entities or professional firms. The fees applied are agreed upon by the Parties in the agreement. The Commission meets in person at its operational headquarters at the Lumsa Human Academy Foundation in Rome, Via Giuseppe Gioachino Belli 86, or at the offices of the contracted entities, or, at the Parties' request, by videoconference.
WHAT WE DO
Under current legislation, the Commission is entrusted with multiple assistance and consultancy functions regarding the certification of employment contracts and individual clauses, as well as the out-of-court settlement of disputes.
WHY WE DO IT
The University and the Lumsa Human Academy Foundation wish to actively contribute to helping workers, as well as public and private employers, prevent and resolve conflicts by defining the qualification, performance, and termination of employment relationships. We immediately provide the parties with our academic and professional expertise and a truly litigation-deflationary tool, aware of the highly social value of the role entrusted to the Commission by the Legislature.
