The Commission, established by LUMSA University, was appointed by Decree No. 100 of 2017 of the Ministry of Labour. Comprising university lecturers in Labour Law and other subject-matter experts, it is chaired by Prof. Iolanda Piccinini, Professor of Labour Law at the University of the same name.
The Commission, whose remit extends throughout Italy, operates on the basis of free, non-exclusive agreements with public and private entities or professional firms. The fees are agreed between the Parties in the agreement. The Commission meets in person at its operational headquarters at the Lumsa Human Academy Foundation, Via Giuseppe Gioachino Belli 86, Rome, or at the offices of the parties to the agreement, or by videoconference at the request of the Parties.
WHAT WE DO
Under current legislation, the Commission is entrusted with a range of support and advisory functions relating to the certification of employment contracts and individual clauses, as well as the out-of-court settlement of disputes.
WHY WE DO IT
LUMSA University and the LUMSA Human Academy Foundation are committed to helping employees and employers, in both the public and private sectors, prevent and resolve disputes by defining the terms, performance and termination of employment relationships. We make our academic and professional expertise immediately available to the parties, together with an effective means of reducing litigation, mindful of the significant social value of the role assigned to the Commission by the Legislature.
